Objectives

Description

According to the norms of AICTE, the “Student Induction Program” was held at the department of first-year engineering of D.Y. Patil College of Engineering. & Technology (DYPCET) during December 2021. The main objective of this program was to inculcate human values among the students which will help them in their future life. This program provided comfort to the first year engineering students in their new environment to set their healthy daily routine by creating bonding with the faculty. Under this program, various activities have been conducted by inviting the various in-house and outside speakers. On the very first day the Welcome & Inauguration Function was held with the inaugural speech of Dr. A. K. Gupta- Executive Director, DYPCET. Principal Dr. S. D. Chede was present for the function. First Year HoD Dr. N. D. Sangle gave introduction to Student Induction Program & stated it’s purpose & importance. Mrs. Tanuja Shipurkar, the social worker, started the session with a speech on “Universal Human values” explaining importance of Human Values, Dr. Urmila Chavan Counsellor guided the students for mental health & stress management. Dr. K.V. Kulhalli spoke on Time Management. Dr. D. N. Deomore from DYPCET delivered a motivational speech on “Power of Mind & Thought”. Prof. S. R. Khot from DYPCET delivered a lecture on Health and Fitness with some demonstrations of Yogasanas. Prof. Sudershan Sutar guided the students regarding Placement Process. The students were informed about the various clubs & activities that are conducted in college campus & they were also informed about the facilities like Juno ERP, Foreign Language Program, NSS, and Sports etc. A motivational movie, ‘Pariksha” was shown to the students. All the sessions were very much informative.  The discussed topics on human values were of great benefit for the students as the topic was a basic requirement with the current working domain of students.

Mrs. Shamim Bhai worked as a coordinator for this program under the guidance of Hon’ble chairman Dr. Sanjay D. Patil, Hon’ble trustee Ruturaj Patil, Executive Director Dr. A.K. Gupta, Principal Dr. S. D. Chede and HoD Dr. N. D. Sangale. The entire first year engineering faculty was actively involved in coordination of this program.

Outcome

At the end of the program ,the students will be able

Objectives The primary objective of the Seminar is to create awareness among first year students about the career planning for better career opportunities.
Description Prof. Subhash Mane, Dean III, KITCOE, Kolhapur  told that there are no.of  ample opportunities for engineering graduates as there is huge requirement of manpower but the only thing is that they must have proper career planning to enhance their employability skills.
Outcome Participants will learn importance of  career planning for better career opportunities and future specially in engineering field. .

“LED Inverter bulb” 8th Feb 2020

D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur & Department of General Engineering had organized One day workshop on “LED Inverter bulb”on 8th Feb 2020. The theme of the workshop was to teach students about LED bulb manufacturing process, Start-up Ideas, Business Ideas for Entrepreneurs, Start-up Business Opportunities in India, entrepreneurship projects, Make in India and its advantages

Today, LED lights have become inseparable part of life. People use it as these are extremely economical and energy-efficient. This has brought a revolutionary change in the lives of people. The complete energy-efficient LED bulbs have made life simpler. These durable and Eco-friendly bulbs are overtaking the incandescent bulbs very quickly. India, being the second-most populous country in the world and fifth major electricity consumer, has been experiencing an ever-widening demand-supply gap in electricity. Consequently, the market for energy-efficient products such as LED lights is bound to grow.

Guest Lecture

A guest lecture was organized by the Department of General Engineering for the first year engineering students. Understanding the importance of effective personality in the career & life, the department has organized a guest lecture on “Personality Development “for the students on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Mr. Rajesh Chavan, the founder of Jeevan Sanjeevani Manav Sanshodhan & Vikas, was the invited guest lecture. He is the first one to design the first online personality development course in India. He gave effective tips to the students to boost up their confidence. He also told them about how to overcome the fear of stage &shared some valuable tips on how to stand out from the crowd. All F.E.students were benefitted by his guidance. First Year Engineering coordinator Prof.K.P.Chopade, Dr.A.A.Rathod & all faculty from the department were present on the occasion.

Parents Meet 2018

The Parent Meet for the first year engineering students was organized on  14th October 2017.All the first year engineering students & about 150 parents were present for the program.Director Dr. A.K.Gupta interacted with the parents & students. He guided them regarding the planning & execution of four-year engineering course. The interaction was really beneficial for the parents & students. First Year Coordinator Prof. K.P. Chopade informed the parents about overall work of the first year &also  the rules & regulations of the college. He also explained the importance of discipline for the successful career. Vice Principal Dr. Kshama  Kullhalli also talked to the parents. Dr.A .V. Kadam was the anchor & coordinator of the program. Prof. Dr. A.A. Rathod, & all first-year engineering faculty were present on the occasion.

Workshop on Aptitude Test

One day workshop on Aptitude Test was organized by the Training & Placement Cell of DYPCET and the Department of General Engineering for the first year engineering students. Understanding the importance of cracking the aptitude test for campus and placement, the department has organized a workshop on “Aptitude Test: Basic Mathematics Rules, Fast Calculations & Logical Reasoning” for the students on Friday, January 12, 2018. & then in continuation on 23,24 &25th January ,2018. Mr.Sanir Kittur was the main resource person.He, along with his team members, guided the students. He gave smart tips for fast calculations as well as explained the importance of logical reasoning. The students got a vision & awareness of aptitude test after the workshop.  Around 200 students attended the workshop.

Lead College Training Program

     

One day workshop on Soft Skills was organized by the Training & Placement Cell of DYPCET and the Department of General Engineering for the first year engineering students. The activity was conducted under lead college, Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Soft Skills play an important role in the placement of engineering students & overall development of them. Understanding that, the students were trained for the actual application of soft skills. Campus 4 You was the training organization. The workshop was conducted on Monday & Tuesday i.e. on 29th & 30 January 2018. Roundabout 225 students from first-year engineering attended the workshop.
