D. Y. Patil Education Society (Institution Deemed to be University) was established on 1st September 2005 under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Since then, the University has developed into one of the premier educational. Institutes in the country offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various disciplines in Medicine and Interdisciplinary fields, fulfilling the aspirations of students hailing from several parts of the country. The University comprises of a Medical. College, Nursing College, School. of Hospitality Studies which are actively engaged in teaching at UG, PG and Diploma levels as well as a Centre for Interdisciplinary Research.
D Y Patil. College of Physiotherapy, a first institute of its kind in Kolhapur is approved by the Government of Maharashtra. The University is also proud of its national and international recognitions.
- The University has been placed at rank 97 in National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2018.
- D. Y. Patil Medical College has been ranked 15 amongst all medical. Colleges in the country and ranked 03 Medical College in the West Zone, in special issue of India Today, in 2017.
- The University has been reaccredited as ‘A’ Grade by the National. Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2017.
