Miss. Yashashee Purohit, 4th year Student of the Department of Architecture at DY Patil College of Engg. & Tech bagged the STUDENT OF THE YEAR 2017 National Award at the WADe INDIA Event held at The Leela, Gurgaon on 29th October.

The jury members were impressed with Yashashree for her excellent design of a 70 bedded Orthopedic hospital, which involved latest technologies like Green Design, Open Space Design and Climate Responsive Architecture. She received her academic guidance from Ar. Abhinandan Magdum, Ar. Snehal Damugade and the HoD of Dept. of Architecture Prof. R.G. Sawant.

D.Y.Patil College of Engineering & Technology, Kolhapur is committed to provide safe academic and working environment to all students and its women employees. As per the guidelines of Supreme Court, UGC, Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal) Act, 2013, an Internal Complaints Committee has been established by the College for a period of three years (2017-18,2018-19,2019-20).

Internal Complaints Committee will examine all matters relating to women in the workplace and will make suggestions and proposals to the institute administration regarding such matters.

1. To create and maintain safe, healthy and supportive environment for women and girl students in the campus. 2. To address issues faced by women at work place and to organize awareness generation programmes and to take preventive steps towards protection of women staff / students from sexual harassment in the college. 3. Internal Complaints Committee is functioning in the college as per the norms laid down by the AICTE to organize workshops affecting women in general and especially in thefollowing areas: ● Sensitization and gender equality on campuses ● Issues of women arising from societal concerns ● Any other theme based activities and events concerning significant issues of women

AWARENESS PROGRAM BY INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE: “ ATMBHAN JAGWATANA” 12 Aug,2017

D.Y.Patil college of Engineering & Technology & ICC committee organized an Awareness program for the first year Engineering &Architecture students on 12 th August ,2017 .The main purpose of the program was to make the students aware of the rules & regulations of the committee & also to create awareness about gender equality among them.

Mrs. Tanuja Shipurkar ,a well known social worker was the chief guest of the program. She interacted with the students & explained the rules & regulations of the committee. She also highlighted the importance of gender equality.ICC Presiding Officer Mrs. Padmavati Pise took special efforts to make the program a success. Principal Dr. A.N.Jadhav, vice principal Dr.Kshama Kullhalli ,First Year Coordinator Prof. K.P.Chopade & all ICC committee members were present on the occasion. 300 students from First Year Engg.& 80 students from Architecture department participated in the programme..Prof. .Mrs .Shamim .Z. Bhai & Miss Nandini.S.Misal were coordinator of the program.

D.Y.Patil College Of Engg. &Tech.Kolhapur Internal Complaint Committee Report On “HEALTH, HYGIENE, and DIET for GIRLS”

An awareness lecture on “HEALTH, HYGIENE and DIET for GIRLS”, was arranged and conducted under ICC of DYPCET, Kolhapur.

Expert was famous Gynecologist Dr. Gayatri Harshe . The activity was conducted between 11.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on 23/08.2017 Aug The venue of the event was -3A, 324, 3rd floor, Architecture department. The guest arrived at 11.15 a.m.

The dignitaries of the Dias were the chief guest Dr. Gayatri Harshe, Principal Dr. A.N. Jadhav, Vice-Principal Dr. K. V. Kulhalli, ICC head Asso Prof. Mrs. P. S. Pise and Coordinator of event Asst Prof. Mrs. N. D. Jirge. The program was inaugurated by watering the plant by hands of chief guest and the dignitaries. After the introduction of the chief guest, she was felicitated by hands of Principal. The program started by the expert lecture and power point presentation by Dr. Harshe. She gave an extensive lecture on the mental and physical well being of teenage girls. The lecture was supported by very useful advice to the girl students regarding personal hygiene, diet tips for healthy and wholesome food, exercise and importance of having good friends so has to share things with them for psychological support. The program was concluded by the question and queries session.

The girl students were given the information regarding sanitary napkin vending machine and were encountered to use the sanitary napkin vending machine and the napkin disposal machine which is installed in old building washroom and new building 1st-floor washroom. Vote of thanks was given by Coordinator Asst Prof. N. D. Jirge
