The Department of Chemical Engineering at D Y Patil Engineering College is organizing one week ISTE approved Faculty Development Program on “INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION THOROUGH GREEN TECHNOLOGY” from 9th to 15th December 2019.

This faculty development program is intended to provide an overview of need, challenges and advances in green technology top meet the sustainable development goals for benefits of industry and society.

D.Y.Patil College of Engineering held a one-week Faculty development workshop organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Science, Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

Municipal Commissioner of Kolhapur Dr. Mallinath Kalshetti was invited as the chief guest of the function.

Famous scientist Dr. Pravin Saptarshi was also present for the function. While addressing the audience on this occasion, he elaborated on how green chemistry can be incorporated into everyday life by ordinary people. Similarly, the terms carbon credits, carbon footprints, carbon captures, carbon emissions, etc., he explained the importance and how to reduce carbon emissions, in simple terms.

Dr. Mallinath Kalshetti reiterated that the achievements of this workshop will be very appreciated if the knowledge we have acquired is actually used for the betterment of the society and it is imperative to increase the participation of the people. On this occasion, Dr. Kalshetti, appreciatedthe work done by DY Patil Engineering College students on various projects of Municipal Corporation.

The workshop was launched by Senior Scientist of N.C.L, Pune Dr. C. V Rhode while addressing the importance of green chemistry for enrichment of the society. Several speakers spoke on the occasion, prominent among them were Dr. Sunil Bhagwat, of ITC Mumbai, Dr. Radhika Malkar, Dr. Pravin Saptrishi of NCL Pune, Dr. Sanjay Jadhav of Indsearch, Pune and Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences, Shivaji University, Dr. P. D. Raut, Dr. Anil Ghol and Dr. Rajendra Kumar Saraf.

Present on the occasion were the Executive Chairman of the DY Patil group, Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta, Principal Dr. Kshama Kulhalli, Vice Principal Dr. Ajit Singh Jadhav, Registrar, Dr. Litesh Malde, Coordinator of Workshop, Dr. Amar Singh Jadhav, Dr. K T Jadhav HoD of Chemical engineering dept & all the professors of the department and the students of various colleges who attended the function.

Dr. Kshama Kulhalli thanked the attendees, and expressed confidence that all the participating professors would certainly use this knowledge to implement social projects. HoD Chemical Department Dr. K .T . Jadhav, expressed gratitude and congratulated the guests and attendees. Vote of thanks was done by Dr. Rahul Patil.

Coordinator for this workshop, Dr. Amar Sinh Jadhav took special work while Prof. Rahul Mahajan, Prof. Arvind Patil, Prof. Manishkumar Patil, Prof. Farhanaz Bagwan, Prof. Kiran Patil, Prof. Namrata Jadhav and non-teaching staff, Shri. K.S. Jadhav, Shri.Onkar Patil, Mrs. Shobha More and Ravi Sangawkar worked hard to make this workshop successful.

For this workshop, the Chairman of the Institute, Honorable Dr. Sanjay D. Patil, Vice President, Honorable Shri Satej D. Patil, Trustee and newly elected MLA Ruturaj Patil gave valuable guidance and encouragement.

The walchand College of Engineering Sangli signed and m o u with d y Patil College of Engineering and technology Kolhapur for the technical upliftment of teaching and learning process to encourage the best practices laid down by AICTE and services provided for faculty for self improvement Under this m o u a roadmap was planned for organising faculty development programs of minimum one week duration and a minimum of 25 guest lectures for mutual benefits The executive director of DY Patil group Dr. A.K Gupta presided over the function and he was accompanied by principal Dr. Shama Kulhalli and Registrar Dr Litesh Malde.

DY Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur organised one week workshop on “Enhancing Teaching Skills for Outcome based Education”.

The theme of the workshop was to focus and organise an educational system which will be essential for all students to be able to do everything successfully at the end of their learning experience. This workshop was organised in association with the AICTE margdarshak scheme.

Walchand College of engineering Sangli, being the hub system established as a mentor institution shared information regarding technical education research and sharing of resources to those present The margarshak scheme was introduced by AICTE for the technical upliftment of member institutions in terms of teaching and learning process.

Executive director of DY Patil group Dr. A.K Gupta welcomed the chief guest. Principal Dr. Shama Kulhalli give the inaugural speech and Dr. S.V. Sankpal organised the workshop.

D. Y. Patil college of engineering & technology is organizing a 5 day workshop on “Enhancing Teaching Skills” aimed at the Faculty Development Program organized by the IQAC Cell.

This course is aimed for engineers, faculty of engineering at Degree / Diploma levels working in D Y Patil group, who intend to learn and/or teach innovative teaching & learning skills for the 21st century students.

 
  • •Move from a (only) chalk-and-talk approach to more interactive methods
  • •Demonstrate some of the interactive methods through active participation from the attendees
  • •Help teachers build a bond with their students and work together towards a common goal
 

Program Contents:

High Impact Teaching Skills – Concentrating on Communication, presentation, using analogies, writing for effectiveness.

Reflective Practices– Concentrating on learning paradigm, learning styles, learner diversity, elements of change, alternate teaching methods, teacher-Learner & Classroom relations, mapping teaching styles to learning styles.

Interactive Teaching Methodologies – Concentrating on group activities and presentation on session plan, active learning methodology demonstration, mapping learning objectives to session plan.

Foreign Language Awareness Program – Japanese and Career Opportunities in Japan
Training and Placement Cell have organised one guest seminar of *Mr. Takutaro Kimura* from Infinite Growth Co.Ltd and  First Study Japanese School, Japan on 27th August 2019 at D Y Patil College of Engineering and Technology,Kasaba Bawada, Kolhapur
It was really good experience for our F.E. and B.E. students to understand importance of Japanese Language and Career Opportunities in Japan.
There is huge manpower requirement in Japan from India.
*Takutaro Kimura* told that there are no.of ample opportunities for Mechanical,CSE and Civil Engineerings in Japan those can speak Japanese language.
