Linux club
The main objective of this club is to spread the awareness of Free/Open Source Linux operating system and its software tools among students. Free/ Open Source Software is the one where the end user gets the right to create, modify, rewrite, and redistribute the original software for free of cost. The students are able conducts installation session to guide the members step by step. Also, various sessions are conducted on regular basis by the members on basic Linux features, commands, various tools and modify the OS by using Python language. We also conduct talks by members of the open source community and workshops to facilitate hands on experience to the students.
Objectives:- • Creating awareness about free and open source software among the students.
- • Encourage students to make the transition from proprietary software to FOSS (Free and Open Source Software).
- • Conducting different seminars, workshop and expert lectures on Linux operating system & its shell programming.
- • To make the students aware of the features and capabilities of Linux so that they can utilize its improved functionalities to develop new Linux based software
- 1. Awareness of various Linux Operating Systems Program for FE to BE students
- 2. Seminar on Various Linux commands and tools
- 3. Installation sessions of Linux operating System with PC hardware awareness
- 4. Seminar on Red Hat certification by Red Hat Academy, Pune
