Production Engineering Department was started in 1997-98 with an intake capacity of 60 students. Production Engineering- is the specialized branch of Mechanical Engineering which covers the details of manufacturing technology and industrial management. Few of the significant features of Production Engineering are Mini Projects, Research Seminars, Industrial training, Sponsored Projects as a part of academics. Production engineering students get a detailed knowledge of software like Unigraphics, ANSYS, Minitab and CAM software etc. Apart from these students get hands-on experience on CNC, VMC machines where they learn programming and machining of different industrial products. This gives the opportunity for students to get practical working experience as well as latest technological skills beyond the syllabus.
During the industry training period, students can apply their theoretical knowledge and acquire skills to enhance their performance in the engineering field. The department is having close interaction with industries which helps in getting sponsored projects and improves their practical knowledge about manufacturing. Faculty of production engineering department always motivate students in exploring latest trends in the Industry. The industrially sponsored projects are related to Technical problems faced by industry, modification and up gradation of Machines, Design and Development of new Mechanisms/Machines, Quality Enhancement policies and Evaluation as per TQM Programs. This helps to increase Institute-Industry Interactions and Contribution towards Societal problems.
